On the 12th of February I went with 40 other female Marines on a bus bound for Parris Island South Carolina. It was to celebrate 69 years of Women in the Marine Corps. I can’t even express how proud and honored I am to have the title of Marine. It is amazing how far women have come in the Marine Corps. Of course going back to where it all began brought back a lot of memories. I would do it again in a heartbeat! There were places we couldn’t go because they were still training, but what we did see was completely worth the drive!
I left with my head a little higher!
Sign at Front Gate
Where I actually stood that day, 14 years ago!
Love this sign!
Where I spent many of days!
Oh our beloved sand pit! Were all of us spent time and met many sand fleas!
My company
My actual rack except I was the top bunk!
My Drill Instructor Hut
Where I stood, too many times!
Our beloved chow hall, it was actually a lot smaller than I remembered! All I cared about was eating, nothing else!
Rifle Range :o)
The battalion where all Women Marines are made!
