69 years of women in the Marine Corps

On the 12th of February I went with 40 other female Marines on a bus bound for Parris Island South Carolina.  It was to celebrate 69 years of Women in the Marine Corps.  I can’t even express how proud and honored I am to have the title of Marine.  It is amazing how far women have come in the Marine Corps.  Of course going back to where it all began brought back a lot of memories.  I would do it again in a heartbeat!  There were places we couldn’t go because they were still training, but what we did see was completely worth the drive!
I left with my head a little higher!

Sign at Front Gate

We would be running and our Drill Instructors would say "for all
those who want to run, this is  what you have to get through for freedom" All I thought was, nope - there are gators out there! Not worth it!

Where I actually stood that day, 14 years ago!

Love this sign!

Where I spent many of days!

Oh our beloved sand pit! Were all of us spent time and met many sand fleas!

My company

My actual rack except I was the top bunk!

My Drill Instructor Hut

Where I stood, too many times!

Our beloved chow hall, it was actually a lot smaller than I remembered!
All I cared about was eating, nothing else!

Rifle Range :o)

The battalion where all Women Marines are made!
