Baby Shower in DC

Candice threw me a beautiful baby shower on the 14th
of April!  I had a lot of old friends come! It was great!
Funny because 3 of them were from Cortez!
Stacey Axline (Bridgewater), Amy Fuller (Jarvis) and
Lorna Jahn (Leonard).  Craig and I are super blessed with
the love our friends and family give us!
We got some beautiful gifts!

Mom and Kevin's Visit to DC

Mom and Kevin came out to visit and I made sure we had
a lot planned!  We had a great time!
Glad I took a few days off, need to
re-cooperate from all the walking! :o)

US Capital Tour - we had Congressman Scott Tipton's intern,
Jorge give us a private tour of the US Capital

We got to see the Space Shuttle Discovery fly over headed
to Dulles Airport.  It was simply amazing!

We did the Department of Interior Tour:  We saw the WWII,
Korean, Vietnam, Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, MLK memorials.
Then we stopped by the White House for a quick photo
shoot!

We took them to the Marine Corps Museum - it was a must :o)

We did a morning tour of Mount Vernon - perfect day!

Lily's new room

This past weekend, Craig and I finally got Lily's room done.  We had to move her over one room, to make her old room the nursery.  I love how it turned out!
I just hope she likes it as much as we do!
Craig flies to get her on the 25th, so we can have her for Memorial Day weekend.
We are also hoping the baby doesn't come before that so she can experience me pregnant.
Want to give her the whole experience!

New Bedding, drapes, and rug

I saw the saying on Amazon and couldn't pass it up! Perfect with her decor!

I got the letters made by Courtney Todd (Schrage)
 They turned out perfectly!

28 weeks

Today I'm 28 weeks!  Not much has changed for me, but the baby is growing and more and more active - especially at night! Guess it is the baby's way of preparing me as to what is coming! Bottom line, being pregnant is fabulous and loving every minute of it!

24 weeks

I’m at 24 weeks!  Baby is moving a lot more and
I feel fantastic!

69 years of women in the Marine Corps

On the 12th of February I went with 40 other female Marines on a bus bound for Parris Island South Carolina.  It was to celebrate 69 years of Women in the Marine Corps.  I can’t even express how proud and honored I am to have the title of Marine.  It is amazing how far women have come in the Marine Corps.  Of course going back to where it all began brought back a lot of memories.  I would do it again in a heartbeat!  There were places we couldn’t go because they were still training, but what we did see was completely worth the drive!
I left with my head a little higher!

Sign at Front Gate

We would be running and our Drill Instructors would say "for all
those who want to run, this is  what you have to get through for freedom" All I thought was, nope - there are gators out there! Not worth it!

Where I actually stood that day, 14 years ago!

Love this sign!

Where I spent many of days!

Oh our beloved sand pit! Were all of us spent time and met many sand fleas!

My company

My actual rack except I was the top bunk!

My Drill Instructor Hut

Where I stood, too many times!

Our beloved chow hall, it was actually a lot smaller than I remembered!
All I cared about was eating, nothing else!

Rifle Range :o)

The battalion where all Women Marines are made!
